School, Green Bay, Tye-dye, & Buddy:)

Well, hello, again:) I totally slacked off last week:( I was sick:( I even went home 7 hours early from work on Wednesday & stayed home on Thursday. Brett also stayed home from school on Wednesday as he wasn't feeling very well either:( Neither of us got sick, but just weren't feeling very well:( I spent most of last week sleeping & blowing my nose. Another sinus infection:( Anyway, it's almost gone now, thank God!! The kids are doing very well:) I don't know if I mentioned on my last blog or not that Brett had finished reading White Fang, well, since then, he has finished The Count of Monte Cristo, and started on Robin Hood:) He is almost at 80% in AR & he only needs to be at 50% by the end of the month:) Way to go, Brett:) He is so stinking smart:) Lexie just finished The Call of the Wild last night:) She is almost at 75% now with her AR:) They just took their reading tests again (like at the beginning of the year) and I can't wait to see how far their reading has come:) They are both doing excellent in school:) They totally love their teachers:) I'm going to check out powerschool when I'm done blogging to see where their grades are. I'm not exactly sure when the end of the semester is.
The kids are very excited about our annual trip to Green Bay in a couple of weeks:) We are going to see Disney on Ice: Disney Princesses:) Actually, just Wanda, my mother-in-law, Lexie, and I are going to the ice show. The boys are going shopping at the sporting goods stores like Gander Mountain and Sportsmans Warehouse and stuff. Brett decided that he didn't want to see Disney Princesses:( They are excited about staying in a hotel & going swimming & shopping:) Poor things - they sure don't get out much:(
Last night, the kids and I tye-dyes 3 tees:) It was pretty fun:) I, of course, forgot to take pics, but I will have to remember to take some later when they try the shirts out:) They asked if we could do it again and I told them we could:) They were going through their clothes trying to find things that were white that we could dye:) I told them we would have to go to town and see what we could find:) They are so funny:)
Well, I think that's all I got for now:) I'm gonna go check their grades:) Oh, I forgot - Buddy is going to get neutered on Wednesday. Brett was almost in tears when I told him that Buddy has to spend the night at the vets:( I told him that I'd pick him up right after work on Thursday & he'll be home when he gets home from school:) I know how he feels - I'm sure gonna miss the little bugger:(

Our Christmas Tree 2009

Kylee, Saylor, & Lexie @ Grandma Derouin's

Back to school:)

Look! Two days in a row! Can you believe it? LOL:)

Today, the kids went back to school (finally!) and they were glad to be back:) It seems that they really missed their friends:) Lexie said her friend, Ashley, didn't play with her, though. She was too busy playing with her "boyfriend" according to Lexie. She was pretty put-out:(

I worked until 6 today, so I stopped on the way home for some dinner. Lexie wanted to stay at grandma's for dinner because grandma made bean soup. Apparently, Lexie was thinking it was green bean soup, so she was a little upset when she looked into her bowl:)LOL! Anyway, she ate her soup & said it was ok. Then she got in trouble because she ate a piece of pineapple & a cherry off the pineapple upside-down cake I made yesterday. Grrr!!

Lexie's godfather, Jake (Jason's cousin), gave Lexie some American girl books for Christmas. She loves them:) She is rapidly reading her way through them:) My MIL said that's all Lexie did all weekend - lay on the couch & read:) I'm excited because they are AR books that she can take tests on & get a higher percent:) They have to be at 50% the end of the marking period in order to go to the 50% AR party:) Brett didn't quite have 25% at the end of the first quarter, so he didn't get to go to the party, but he's made up for it this quarter - he's way over 50% already:) Good thing, too, since Mr. Aronson told him that's part of his homework:) He enjoys reading American Chillers & Michigan Chillers:) Anything a little creepy:) Hey, at least he's reading!!!

We all played Wii bowling last night:) Lexie was so happy - she bowled a 214!! My record is 202 & Brett's is 264:) Jason hasn't reached 200 yet:( It's pretty fun:) Brett told grandma Wanda that he needs some more Wii games & another controller:) I will have to get another one this week or whatever because it's hard to have only one with 4 of us:)

I think that's it for today:) I have to work 11-4 tomorrow & the kids are taking the bus home. They don't get home until 4:45 now because of their longer day:( That sucks!

Well, have a great day, everyone:)

Christmas pics

Christmas & New Year's Update:)

I know I've sure been slacking with my blogging:( My only excuse is that's time is flying by, but now that the holidays are over, I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things:)

Christmas was great:) I was actually off on Christmas Eve, so Lexie and I made tons of cookies:) That was our assignment to bring to Christmas Eve dinner at Jason's grandma's. Our favorite, of course, is the wreath cookies made out of corn flakes & marshmallows:) They are awesome:) Also a big hit at my BK Christmas party on the 20th.

Christmas morning, I was the first one up at 7:45. I took a shower, then Jason woke up & got the kids up:) Lexie was upset that her alarm didn't go off at 6:30!!! Thank God she set it wrong;) Anyway, they were very good at opening their presents:) They were excited about the Wii:) Lexie really liked all her new clothes & her MP3 player which I made sure I put a bunch of music on for her:) Brett was excited by his new Nerf gun & legos:)

Next, we went to Jason's mom's where Brett & Taylor got a 22 (gun). Naturally, I am so thrilled by that - at least Brett liked it:) Lexie got more clothes & the CD player she asked for:) Jason's dad made us a new swing for outside:) I can't wait until this summer when I can sit in my backyard & swing:) He made one for Kevin & Tracy, too:) I will have to post some pics:)

Then, we headed to Auntie Sallie's for more presents & breakfast:) We went home for a little while, then back to Jason's mom's for dinner - turkey - yay!! It was a long day, but it was nice:)

I will have to post pics of our Christmas tree hunting, too:) We sure had fun:)

For New Year's Eve, we had planned to go to our friend's house, but my brother's plans fell through, so we had them over instead. We enjoyed some adult beverages & some Wii:) It was fun:) I'm glad they came - I only wish Casey could've been there, too:( Maybe next year:)

Now, everything is back to normal. The kids go back to school tomorrow & Jason & I are working - he was on vacation the week of Christmas, lucky duck!! We hope you all had a great Christmas & New Year:) I know 2010 is going to be way better than 2009:)

Pam (Ihope you enjoy the kids' posts!!)
