Recipe for Cola Chicken - Awesome:)

Ok, I'm going to give you original recipe, then I will tell you what I changed:)

Cola Chicken

12 oz. diet cola
1/2 cup ketchup
2-4 T minced onion
1/4 t. dried oregano
1/4 t. garlic powder
8 pieces of skinless chicken

In large skillet, combine first 5 ingredients. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Add chicken. Stir to coat. Reduce heat to med. Cover & simmer for 20 mins. Uncover & simmer for 45 mins until done.

Ok, so here's what I did! I used Diet Shasta Cola, instead of ketchup, I used fat free Catalina, chopped onion instead of miniced, and I use boneless & skinless chicken breasts which I cut up into smaller pieces:) OMG! It was sooooo good! Last time I made it, I followed the original directions & it was good, but my new recipe was much better:) If you try it, let me know what you think:) It pretty much carmelizes on the chicken:) MMMMMMMMM!

Just a day at the park;)

So we did make it to the park today:) It was beautiful outside:) We stopped at Wendy's for some lunch to eat down at the park:) We ate lunch, then the kids played while I worked on my schedule (which I got done!). Hooray! Anyway, there were some wasps down there buggin' us a little bit. The kids both had to throw their pop away because a wasp got into their straw:( They were pretty much done anyway:) Then we went to Fredrick Family Chiro for a nice back & neck crack:) It was wonderful:) Then, we came home & I started my chicken noodle soup & dinner (cola chicken). It was fantastic! Even both my guys who are VERY picky loved it. I am going to share the recipe with you:) It sounds weird, but it's delicious! I made rice and carrots with it, but you could do potatoes or whatever. I'm trying to be healthy:)

Jason has his brothers & Tom over to help with the lean-to on his shed, so Taylor is here, too. The kids are outside playing with him & I think I'm going to check out that Jillian Michaels vid Shannah loves so much:)

I gotta open in the morning, so I will say goodnight:) I will post that recipe separate:)You gotta try it!

What to do today?!?

Today I am off work, but I closed last night & open tomorrow morning, so I'm sorta limited. I did get up at about 10:30 this morning. I figured I wouldn't be up before noon, yay, me:) Anyway, I mentioned going to Elmer's after work last night/this morning. They have 1/2 gallons of flavored Kemp's milk for $1! Naturally, I got 2 banana, 2 chocolate, & 2 strawberry as well as 2 full gallons of 1% white milk:) The dates are late next week, so I'm sure we will be safe:) We drink a lot of milk:) Jason will drink all the chocolate, of course:) Anyway, I just thought I'd mention it since I was so excited by my discovery:)

Yeah, I was thinking about making some home-made chicken noodle soup for my little boy as he's not feeling to hot right now:( Lots of nose-blowing & coughing:( Poor little guy:( Anyway, I thought I'd take the kids to the park for a little while as it's such a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L day:) I hope it's nice like this on Saturday, too, since we (Lexie & I) are going to my friends', Mallory & Jim, wedding:) I can't wait to see them again - it's been way too long:( I will be picking Shannah up along the way, of course:)

I think the kids are set for school:) I will probably pick them up a couple more pairs of jeans, just to be safe, but that can even wait until school starts, since they are pretty well set. I think I've got to get Lexie some colored pencils yet & I need to look for bigger pencil bags as the ones I got for them don't fit a stupid pencil in them:(

Well, I guess I will take off now - gonna make sure the kids have brushed their teeth today & taken medicine & find something for lunch before running to town:) Have a good one!

P.S. I tried to send some pics from my phone, but they didn't post either, so IDK what's up!?! I can't put up any pics! Grrr! I can't even send any in an email! Well, Shannah, are you gonna be home tomorrow? I might be coming to visit:) See ya!
Just got done @ work:) now i am @ elmers 4 milk & stuff ;) then home 2 bed! Hooray!

This is Brett:)

I have a cold:(

Well, at the fair, I was having an awesome time! The first ride I went on was the Spinner - I went on it like 4 times (not in a row). My favorite ride was the Tobaggan. I went on it with Morgan. We had to wait in a long line to go on it! The last ride I went on was the Spinner with my friend Dawson. I raced a robot while I was pushing L'il D in his stroller:) I won! The robot told me to stop before I hit Nebraska:) That was fun! Well, that's the fair in a nutshell:)

Saturday, I went school shopping with mom & Lexie. I got a cool backpack & awesome shoes:) I also picked out a cool shirt that I want to wear on the first day! We only have a couple things left to pick up:)

See ya later!

Brett

This is Lexie:)

Last week, at the fair, we got a snow cone (watermelon) because it was so hot! It was very good! We walked around on the Midway a couple of times before we got our wristbands to go on the rides:) In the Ruth Butler building, we saw some huge wooden frogs that you can make croak! They are cool! I did not like the Zipper or the Demon Loop! I will not ride those again! My favorite ride was the Gravitron. It was fun! We got 2 elephant ears - one for me & Brett & 1 for mom & dad. It was great! We spent a long time at the fair. Poor L'il D couldn't go on any rides, but he did win at the ducky game:) I won a ball at the basketball hoops:) We saw lots of our friends! We didn't go in any barns, though! We were way to busy on the rides:) Mommy bought Brett & I each a new cowboy hat:) Mine is pink:) We raced a robot & whooped him:) He liked my High School Musical shirt:) Brett, Morgan, & I raced down the Super Slide, but I lost:( It was still super fun:) Morgan & I went on the small Ferris Wheel.

On Saturday, mommy took Brett & I school shopping. I got a new backpack - it's awesome! I got a pair of jeans & a pair of kakhis. I got a new pair of Sketchers from Dunhams:) There are just a few things left on my list to get:) I am so excited to go back to school! & see my friends:) I'm going into 3rd grade:)

Yesterday, while mommy & daddy were at work, I helped grandma make beans. I cut off the ends with a knife & cutting board. It's the first time I used a sharp knife. I also emptied the water out of the pool & refilled it. I helped grandpa with the chickens - I can't wait until they start laying eggs in October:) Then I get to help collect them - Kylee won't because she is afraid of chickens:) We have to watch Midnight around the chickens because he wants to eat them:( Toby just likes to run & chase them.

Well, I gotta go. I'm playing with my Polly Pockets & Littlest Pet Shop.

Peace-out! Love, Lexie XOXOXO

Just catching up!

HI! Sorry I've not been blogging too much lately - time goes by so fast! I'm pretty sure my last post was Saturday & school shopping with the kids:) I have to go thru everything to see what we still need. There's not too much:) I can't wait to be done:) Brett loves his new shoes! He wore them all weekend around the house:) (We told him he couldn't wear them outside). Anyway, we stayed home Saturday night & watched a movie or two & had some popcorn:)

Sunday we did absolutely nothing! Even Jason stayed home all day! I will have to mark it on the calendar! I don't recall that happening in a long time:) We pretty much vegged the whole day:) We made eggs & bacon for breakfast, did some dishes, & laundry, but didn't leave for a thing! Jason asked me if I felt like going for a ride to LaBranch. I said, "What's in LaBranch?" His answer was, "CAMP!" Just as I suspected:) No, thanks! We didn't even go to church. Jim & Wanda called just before 9 & told us they weren't going to church, so we decided to stay home, too.

Yesterday, I had a stupid 9-7 shift! I hate that shift:( It's my whole day! & to make matters worse, we were having a manager meeting @7, so I was gonna be there later:( Meeting got over around 8:30! Ugh! So tired! Sucks!

Lexie helped grandma make dilly beans - these are green beans pickled, from what I understand?!? Weird! Wanda made pickled beets, too, but I'm not sure if Lexie helped with that or not. I will get her so she can blog here in a sec:)

I'm gonna get going as I work 7-close tonight:( Nice, right? Anyway, see ya!

Hey! What a week:)

Hi!

Ok, so I think I have to go back to Monday - it was my birthday & Lexie made me a Butter Pecan cake:) It was beautiful! I took it out of the oven & put a hot pad on the table to let it cool so she could frost it later. Well, within 10 mins, she was in the kitchen yelling at Tinkerbell (her kitten) who had jumped from the window sill to the table & stepped on the cake! There was a big cat footprint in our cake:) Lexie was so mad & I thought the whole situation was funny, so I started to laugh, then Lexie started to laugh:) Needless to say, we did not bring the cake to Grandma's:) Jason's grandma made me a cake anyway & it was coconut:) MY FAVE!

Tuesday, we went to the fair. We left our house around 11 & went to Rapid to get Shannah & L'il D:) We got to the fair about noon. We walked around & the kids went on rides & we had snow cones. The kids played a game - Brett almost won - he had to throw a ball at these 3 blocks, but 1 stayed on the table, so he didn't win a prize. He really wanted one of these big sea serpents:) Lexie played a basketball game & she made all 3 shots into the hoop! She did awesome:) She got to pick a prize & she ended up picking this inflatable ball with little spike things on it:) Silly girl:) Brett was a little sad, but he didn't really pout. I wasn't spending another $5 on the game.

We left the fair about 4 to bring Shannah & L'il D home, then we headed back to town. We stopped at Little Caesars for a pizza for dinner. When we got back to the fair, my friend, Theresa, called and they were finally there, so we met up with them. Brett was thrilled to see Morgan:) He went on lots of rides with her that he wouldn't go on before:) He's got a crush:) Anyway, we didn't get far when we ran into several of our other friends, too! Phil, Chrysta, Tegan, Bron, Scott, Aiden, McKenzie, Julie, Craig, Tara, Dennis, Allie, Abbie, Bobbi, Adam, Dacota, Dawson - they were all there! We all stayed together for a while:) The kids were all very happy to see each other again:) We went home around 10. Long day:)

So Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday, I opened, so we didn't do much:( I was sooooo tired! I already told you all about the power incident Friday morning! Crazy! We ate dinner, then Jason & I went to the fair. The kids were having a sleep-over at grandma's. We went through all the barns & stuff - Jason likes that:) The Budweiser Clydesdales were beautiful, though! Also, I liked the bunnies:) We left the fair and went to Walmart to get cat food & stuff.

Today, I picked the kids up & we did a little back-to-school shopping. Summer just flew right by:( I could use another 2 months, I think:) I didn't get to do half of the things I wanted to do this summer:( Well, we'll see - have a couple of weeks to go. I guess we did a lot, but it doesn't seem like it. Oh, well. The kids each got a pair of shoes & a backpack today. They also got some clothes. I ran into my Grandma, Joan, at the mall & talked to her for a little while:) She's still keeping busy:) She's got a lot of energy! She couldn't get over how much the kids have grown!

Well, I guess the kids are pretty excited to go back to school:) Brett doesn't want homework, though:) I will have them try on their new clothes & try to upload them. I still cannot put pics up yet:( It took 20 minutes just to get to blogger! I so need a new computer & internet access! Grrr!

Anyway, I have to go check on my Chicken Parmesan that I'm making for dinner:) Yummy! One of my faves:)

Have a great weekend! Hopefully, I will have time to blog later & have the kids get on here for a little while:) Adios!

Hello! It's my 31st Birthday!

Hi! I am officially 30 something today! It's not too bad, but I'm one of those weird people who still likes birthdays after 21! Maybe when I turn 40 I'll get over that, but as for now... birthdays are great! I guess it helps that I have a pretty good life:) I have a wonderful husband who adores me:), two beautiful & healthy children who light up my life:), 3 wonderful pets who keep us entertained:), & a job (which is hard to come by these days).

It may not be anyone's dream job to work at Burger King, but it's really not such a bad job; it has good days & bad days same as everywhere else. Also, I like to be busy & BK is usually pretty busy:) I left BK 2 years ago for about 9 months to do the "office job" thing, but, honestly, it was pretty boring! I need to be busy & it's weird to sit on my bum all day! And it's not like I'm a regular crew person, which helps:) I like to be able to make decisions and I like working on the computer, but not all day long. I am the one who makes the crew schedule and the monthly newsletters. I also do lots of "extras" and whatever Tina, my boss, asks me to do! I like working with people (most of the time) and I guess it pretty much suits me:) Also, I guess it's pretty flexible if I need something off, which is great as I like to be involved with Brett & Lexie's school:) Granted, sometimes I wish I didn't have to work as I like to do tons of things which I just don't have time for:) But, since I do need the second income, it works:)Oh, if I haven't told you yet, I just got a 35 cent raise:)

Sometimes my boss isn't very understanging when it comes to the kids' activities, but they mean everything to me & it's not like they are involved in a ton of things! Pretty much the only thing they do is soccer for a month in the summer. Once in awhile, something else comes up, like Brett going to Lego Camp for 3 days, but mostly nothing else:) I am hoping to get Lexie into dance this fall, though. I will have to call the Academy of Dance to see if I can get her on the list:) She sure would love that! Those of you who know my little girl, know she is not the most coordinated little thing:) If I'd known, her name would have been Gracie! It doesn't stop her from dancing, though:) I just hope dance will improve her coordination - it certainly couldn't hurt, right?

No real big birthday plans today - Lexie will be making me a cake - butter pecan with cream cheese frosting, I think:) (I will be available to assist her, of course!) I'm just hoping it doesn't get too hot! Well, I guess I will have to shut the house up & turn the air on:) Thank god for a/c! And to think that I used to hate it as it made me too cold!?!

Lexie lost another tooth Friday night (which I forgot to tell you!) She was pretty upset Saturday morning when she woke me up to tell me the toothfairy didn't come (daddy couln't find her tooth!)I went to bed before she did;) Anyway, I told her maybe the tooth fairy had too many teeth to collect last night & would be there that night:) She figured that our cat, Tinkerbell, scared the tooth fairy away since she plays all night long:) Logic, right? LOL! So, the tooth fairy, did, in fact, come Saturday night & she got $1.25 for her tooth! Must have been a nice one:) She was pretty happy!

I don't believe that she's told you what she's been doing at Grandma Wanda's everyday:) She's helping to harvest grandma's garden a little bit at a time:) She loves picking the green beans:) & eating them, too! She's watching those tomatoes as they are one of her favorties:) Her & grandma have been eating a salad with their lunch nearly everyday. Brett, however, will not touch anything out of the garden:( He doesn't even like corn on the cob! He likes carrots, though:)

Lexie & I polished our nails last night:) I just have to remember to remove it on Tuesday night since we are not allowed to have fingernail polish on at work due to dirty fingernails:( Yuck! Like I don't clean under my nails! They are getting too long, though, so I will have to trim them soon! Otherwise they will keep breaking & that hurts!

I am on 4 10's this week, so I have 3 days off:) I work Wed-Fri & next Mon:) Sweet, hey? I have the whole weekend off! Apparently Tina made a mistake!LOL! She asked me why I didn't tell her she gave me the whole weekend off on Fair Week? I told her because I was on 4 10's so I didn't think of it! She did the schedule - why would I point out that I was off all weekend on Fair Week? Can anyone tell me? I assumed she just wanted me to stay later on the days I worked since it's hard to leave at 1 when we are busy. IDK! Oh, well! Not gonna worry about it! The schedule is posted! Hooray!

I think that's all for now:) I gotta go help Lexie with the cake so it's cooled enough to frost later:)

Peace & all that hoopla!

What Brett has to say....

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Well, tomorrow is the fair! I am really excited! I don't know where to start! Oh, yeah, now I know! I'm gonna list all the rides I wanna go on! Gravitron, the Haunted House, Bumper cars, Glider, and many more I can't think of! I really want to go into the Reptile Room:) I tried to climb the Rock Wall last year, but it wasn't a sucess at all! It's harder than it looks! I wish I could climb it old-style; just grab the rope & walk up! I've been conditioning for this quest:) I hope mom has another $5 for my fee:) I really want a piece of the cheesecake dipped in chocolate - it's my favorite! Oh, and I have to stop in the Butler building to look at the sea lampries like I always do - those things are nasty!

Oh, I'm all done for now! I'm sure I'll have lots to say tomorrow night!

Brett - out!

What Lexie has to say today;)

I am excited about the fair tomorrow! I want to see the horses and the animals in the petting zoo! I can't wait to see the haunted house. My favorite ride is the Ferris Wheel, but I like the Gravitron, too:) Last year, the Mega Drop was kinda scary, but I went on it 3 times anyway:) I can't wait until I get an elephant ear - those are soooo good! Yummy! I also want to try chocolate covered cheesecake - sounds delicious:) Mommy & Brett had some at Country USA, but I had some delicious mini-donuts:) Daddy said he wants to get a wristband, too, so he can go on the rides with me because last year I was all alone:( Brett was with Taylor and Kylee doesn't really like the rides anymore. I also want to look at the bunnies, too:) Oh, and I gotta have some of that wonderful cotton candy! I don't think I'm gonna go on the salt & pepper shaker this year - we'll see! (Lexie's not afraid of anything!) We are going to pick Auntie Shannah & Li'l D up before we go to the fair:) I can't wait to go into the Harry Potter Fun House! Mommy will have to remember to bring her camera! And some sun screen!

Peace-out! Love, Lexie<3>

A day of doing nothing:)

Hey, all!

Haven't left the house yet today:) What a nice feeling:) Jason got up early this morning & went to camp with his dad & the dogs to cut something that needed to be cut... I can't remember if it was grass, trees, wood, etc. Anyway, he didn't get home until 2. Then he had to run Dennis's tractor back.

Lexie & I gave Kyra a bath after she got home from camp as she was a stinky girl:( I let Lexie run the water this time - apparently Lexie thought Kyra needed cold water:( I explained to her that Kyra likes warm water just like we do - poor girl was shivverring like crazy:( I added some warm water & we washed her quickly.

Brett tried to get on You-Tube while Lexie took her bath, but the internet was being stupid & he couldn't get on:( &^$#*(^*^&^%*@!@##! You know what I'm saying? So tired of this dial-up crap! Anyway...

The kids got their rooms clean (is it just me or do they have to do this often?). Brett was the one giving me a hard time this time:( He decided to put a couple notes on his door about being treated like an orphan, nobody loves him, and he doesn't want to go to the fair. Nice, hey? I was pretty mad & by the time I finished talking to him, he was sorry he put those notes on his door. He apologized and did an excellent job cleaning his room after that with no argument:) After he was done, he told me that he did really want to go to the fair (like I didn't know that!).

Lexie wanted to watch a movie this morning, so we watched Anastasia (one of my faves, but the kids hadn't seen it in a while). After the movie was done, Lexie felt the need to organize the Disney DVDs onto one shelf, but she found she needed part of another shelf, too:) At least she didn't alphabetize them - I've done that before:) Too many dvds now & Jason has his faves all together on one shelf - has to have all Fast & Furious, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc. all together:) Silly, silly:)

Brett finished the dishes tonight after we had our delicious grilled pork chops, baby red potatoes, & green beans from Grandma Wanda's garden:) Brett, naturally, did not want the beans or potatoes:( Picky eaters.... Grumble, grumble. <3 (that's a heart - didn't know that one until Country USA).

OK, I think that's it for now - Jason mentioned taking the kids to town for ice cream tonight, so we will probably leave here in a sec!

Casey - r u coming up for the fair? Let me know if you are:)

Shannah - my plan is to go Tuesday as I work Wed-Fri if that works for you!

I will talk to both of you in the next couple days:) Love you! XOXOXOXO!

Night, everyone:) Gotta work in the a.m.:( so I don't get to put my 31 cents in the church bank at church:( Maybe next week:) Have a good one:)
Shannah-got postcard:) 2 cute! Thanx-will blog later. Making chops, taters, & beans on grill:) yummy!

Just checking c if this works!

Just another day...

Finally - tomorrow I have a day off:) I can hopefully get some housecleaning done - if it's not too humid:( Yuck! It's too hard to clean when it's hot & humid, but I just may have to run the A/C.

The kids went to Grandma Wanda's again today. Grandma & grandpa took the four kids to Ludington Park to eat their Subway lunch & they walked down to Arnson Island & got a little wet! They had a blast! Even Brett who never wants to do anything;) Lexie said that was beautiful!

Both kids are on their best behavior as I have threatened "NO RIDES!" at the UP State Fair next week if they don't behave. I told them they'd still get to go, but it wouldn't be as fun not riding the rides. Brett wasn't too worried, but you could tell by Lexie's face that she was concerned!LOL! You can guess who misbehaves most often:) Brett's biggest thing is not listening, but Lexie can be very mean to him! Granted, he isn't an angel, but he doesn't like confrontation (just like his mom), so he tends not to cause too much trouble. He also doesn't like to be in trouble or to get yelled at. He cries very easily:( I suppose it's hard to have a sister like Lexie who always wants to be in charge and doesn't like to share. She pinches and scratches Brett quite a bit, but we're working on that. Maybe she needs some anger management:) LOL!

Everyone is doing well. We've just celebrated tons of birthdays - MY GOD - what does everyone do in October & November? Apparently, they make babies! LOL! Shannah, I guess you guys will have to try it out, that's the time to get pregnant!LOL! Lord knows we could use a couple more in July & August:) 3 out of the 5 managers at work have August birthdays!

I think Lexie is going to make me a birthday cake on Monday - I will have to help her, no doubt, but I don't mind:) She sure loves to help cook:) She really loves to bake cookies:) I think I will even have to let her decorate:) I'm sure it will be a beautiful work of art:)

We had a simple dinner of mac 'n cheese tonight (we should've invited L'il D over!). I worked 5-3, so I really didn't feel like cooking anything & neither did Jason, so we went simple! We do love mac 'n cheese:) Did I mention we had roast, mashed potatoes, & baby carrots last night? Ooooh, that was good! We went to Jason's mom's house for his aunt & uncle's birthdays (they have the same birthday!) & my MIL, Wanda, made apple slices (with Lexie's help) & we had it a la mode! Yummy!

Oh, Brett thought this was funny, so I will have to tell you:) When we get home, I go open the door to the dog pen (where Kaylie is while we are at work) & let Kaylie out. Well, the kids need to stay by the front door because that's where she runs to. If someone is not there to let her in, she runs what Jason calls "hot laps" around the house, garage, & field - sometimes into the woods, so we've learned to be prepared for her:) If someone is there to open the door for her, she goes right into the house:) Silly dog! Well, anyway, Kyra has always been in the habit, even when Keesha was still here, of growling & playing when she comes in. With Keesha, she would chew on her neck:) Well, Kaylie looked at her & put her paw on Kyra's head:) Brett said it was like she was telling her to "Shut up!" It was pretty funny:) Then Brett had to go on with "Silence!" which is from Achmed the Dead Terrorist, one of his fave vids on You-Tube:) He sure does like comedy & silliness:) I will have to find some more for him - he's only allowed to watch what I ok.

The kids just left to take Kaylie for a walk to the creek & back - don't worry, it's very shallow & close to our house. Lexie always wants to ride her bike down there, but I tell her that she can only go if Brett goes with her. She doesn't like that too well. I think she thinks since she's physically bigger than her brother that she should be able to do everything he can do. I tried to explain to her that she's only 8 while he is 10. I think this concept is lost on her:)

I picked up a back-to-school outfit for Brett the other day & it looks pretty nice on him, plus he didn't hate it! He has gotten soooooo picky with his clothes! Oh, and he wants to let his hair grow out some more. Daddy's not too thrilled with that, but I told him that it's Brett's choice. I just hope it's at a nice-looking stage before school pics:) No mohawk this year!LOL! He picked out some Sketchers in the JCP add, so I will have to check it out:) There sure isn't much to pick from for boys:( I found tons of cute shoes for Lexie and hardly anything for Brett. She can wear from a kids size 3 1/2 to a ladies 6! So now all she wants to try on are high heels. I told her to try on some tennis shoes & her response was, "But mom, I need to learn how to walk in these!" To which I informed her that until she can walk gracefully with regular shoes, she won't be needing anything with high heels! Still, she did insist:) What a girl:)

Wanda was telling me yesterday that she wants to redo one of the upstairs rooms for Lexie since she's always stuck playing by herself. The boys don't play with her & Kylee, going on 14, isn't too interested in anything Lexie is interested in:( So Wanda was talking about getting her some dress-up clothes & some high heels that she could play in:) I don't know if she mentioned it to Lexie, but she would love that! If only someone else could have had a little girl when I had a little girl... Besides Shannah's mom since she lives in Rapid River - too far away:( I think I will have to borrow Chloe one on these days:) Hmmm...

Well, I'm not sure what's on the agenda for tomorrow - we've had a few offers camp with the fam, Corn Fest '09 @ the Bruce's camp (my boss), Marquette County Fair & Mud Drags with suprise birthday party for a friend, etc. Oh, & Brett wants to go visit Auntie Shannah & Uncle Dave:) Maybe Sunday night if you're not busy, Shannah:) Let me know:)

Alright, the kids are back, safe & sound from their walk. Brett came in to inform me that he put in Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End for us to watch, so I guess that's my Friday night in a nutshell:) I will have to make some popcorn for the kids (they love popcorn!) It sounds like Jason is done mowing the lawn. so Good Night!

Brett`s (Blog)

Uh .........oh! Hi I didn`t quite see you. Where`s the color. Oh not yellow. Aaaaah there! That's much better! Ok, let's talk about the weekend. Well, I went to the Off-road races - very man-like! Let's face it, only 3 more years & I'll be a teenager! (Yikes!) That wasn't me, that was my mom - the yikes part:) I mean, seriously, I am growing up! My mom doesn't like it, though! She just wants me to stay young and small forever:) Yikes! (that was me). Well, what should I say? Hey, I didn't tell you to put that down! Delete that now! I was just talking to you! Not you, my mom! She's typing everything I say right now because I am too slow at typing & I don't have all night to blog:) That ain't true! I do have all night:) Ok, fine, I might be slow, but still....

Ok, I was watching Big Foot on Saturday night. He sucked! I meant all he did was donuts, most of the time! Scott Murray & his friends did some cool jumps on their dirt bikes Sunday night!

Well, I gotta go brush my teeth & take my medicine. Good night!

Brett

Had a BLAST!

We had so much fun this weekend:) The kids were pretty good.

Friday, Jason only worked until noon, so he went & picked the kids up at his mom's, then went home & packed the truck up - we had most everything ready to go into the truck the night before. We borrowed a couple of sleeping bags from Jason's parents for the kids. I got done @ 3:30, so I had to run real quick to Elmer's for a couple of last minute things. I went home & showered & went through the house to see if Jason missed anything, which, of course, he did;) Then, I headed up to the track.

We ate after Jason got off the track (pre-run & stuff), then we headed to the hill for the karoke contest. Megan sang "Our Song" by Taylor Swift - she was very nervous, poor thing was shaking:( She did very well! She made it in the top 5 out of 20 or so. 2nd round, she sang "Fearless" by Taylor Swift (she loves Taylor Swift which is why we took her to Country USA for her birthday in June!) She didn't make the top 3 which suprised me because she did very well! She was upset:( But there's always next year - she's only 15:)

It rained Friday night:( At least it waited until we were sleeping:) Anyway, poor Brett woke up wet:( He told me that he thought he had wet the bed. "But I smelled it & it didn't smell like pee, mom." Funny little guy! Poor thing was probably scared crapless as he was sleeping on Auntie Tracy's air matress?!? Lexie got in big trouble for that one as her daddy had told her to zip the "doggie door" up - which she did not! Grrr!

Saturday, we watched the races until 4 or so because Megan had to go home & get ready for her boyfriend's suprise birthday party:) We ate dinner when Jason got off the track & went home to shower - boy, was Kaylie glad to see us:) We hung out & walked around. Brett & Lexie both took a little nap on the hill:) Tracy bought Taylor one of those RC Off-road trucks so the kids played with that until the batteries died:( It was Jason's birthday, so we did a little celebrating - Tracy made brownies & they stuck a sparkler in it for Jason - he wrote his name in the air:) Oh, & we went back up to the hill to watch the Big Foot show:) I enjoyed it, but everyone else was a little disappointed. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding & he thought he was just supposed to "show" the truck, but the contract was for car & bus crushing. The show truck is not set up for crushing & the crushing truck was in ALASKA! I did video tape it & I will attempt to upload it tomorrow at Shannah's since my computer is being a pain:( GRRRR!

Sunday, the kids & I did not go up on the hill. It was so hot & humid:( My friend, Theresa, and Tommy's girlfriend, Lisa did not feel like sitting on the hill, so we visited & packed at the site:) The kids did go up on the hill with Tracy for a little while, but it was way too hot:( When they got back, they all changed into shorts & soaked each other with the water from the melted ice in the cooler:) They had fun & cooled off quickly:)

After the races, Tommy came back & picked us all up to bring us back on the track for Scott Murray. That was a fun show, but not too long as it was so hot & he had all this equipment on - some people booed him because he didn't do his famous double-back flip, but he told them to come to his house to see it since he's all set up for it & Bark River was not:(

So, all in all, we had a great weekend:) We sure were pooped when we got home! & I had to open Monday morning - I will have to remember to request a slightly later shift next year like 8 or 10:)

Well, Brett is bugging me to blog about this weekend, so I guess I will talk at you tomorrow & have some pics to show you - I didn't get any of the races, though:( Forgot my camera on Saturday.

Off-road races, here we come!

Hey, everyone!

Sorry, no time to post yesterday:( Just trying to get everything ready for this weekend. I also had to get next week's schedule done last night & Jason & the kids were watching Escape to Witch Mountain. I forgot they had already seen it. Grandma Wanda took the four of them to the theater to watch it a few months ago (with Kylee & Taylor).

Well, I've got one kid trying to get out of going camping this weekend and the other one is begging me to go:) I finally gave in to Lexie. She will not be staying with Grandma Wanda Friday night or going to the Bridal Shower on Saturday:( Oh, well. I'm not going to make her. Brett wants to stay at my mom's, but like I said before, he might be able to work on the remote-control track:) I sure hope he can - he's pretty excited. I'm not sure why he is not all set to go as he has several other boys to play with whereas Lexie only has Nevva, if she comes. Brett has Taylor, Bradley, Walker, Trevor, etc. He goes to school with a couple of them. Weird kid:)

Yesterday was the last day of Lego camp for Brett. He had lots of fun even though there was no one in his session that he knew. Apparently that did not stop him from talking everyone's ear off:) He did not get to race yesterday, though:( His robot kept turning - it just wouldn't keep going straight:( He said when he took it apart, there was some piece stuck in one of the gears. Bummer! He loves building stuff! Just like his Uncle Dave & Grandpa Jim:)

Lexie is reading one of her Judy Moody books she got for her birthday from her godfather, Jake. Brett is reading Eragon which is about a dragon & dragon-rider (it's a movie, too!). His cousin, Kylee has read it several times:) She has the whole triology!

I am working on potato salad (again!). The kids peeled lots of potatoes for me:) The Stump Jumpers (4-wheel drive club) is providing hot dogs & hamburgers tomorrow night & we need to bring a dish to pass:) Since I was already planning on making potato salad... The kids are packing for the weekend. We (Jason & I) got a new air matress from his parents for our birthdays (Jason's is on Saturday & mine is the 17th), so we will be sleeping comfy:) The kids will be on the other air matress. I am hoping to get them each their own soon:) Maybe next year as this will be our last camping trip this year, I think. We are planning a trip to our camp with our friends sometime in September or October:) That will be fun!

Ok, my egg timer just went off, so I have to go drain those:) I have to get everything set. I can't take too long after work tomorrow because I have to be up on the hill by 7 p.m. to watch our friend, Megan, in the karoke competition:) She's awesome! She could win $1000! Go, Megan!

Have a great weekend, all! We will talk to you Sunday night or Monday! Yippee!

Missiles a Poem by Brett

Missiles

demolish, deadly

devastating, eliminating, demolishing

destroying everything in path

Bombs

*this is a cinquain

Frustrated with technology in Escanaba, MI:(

Hi! As you may have noticed, once again, I was unable to upload any pics:( Not sure what's up?!? I can't wait to get a new computer! I am hoping to get one in 6 months or so:) Cross your fingers. Also, I am hoping for a new internet provider as I am not thrilled with NetZero:( It keeps kicking us off! Grrrr!

Okay, so here goes - gonna try to put some pics up:)

Yep, I got nothing. It saves what I write in the drafts and kicks me off the site. This is very frustrating:( Maybe I will have to go to see Shannah to get some up!

Ok, so Brett had his 2nd day at Lego Camp & he's having a great time! He talked about it all the way home again:) When I picked him up, we had to run to Super One to get something for dinner - I decided on goulash:) Yum! Then I gave Brett 3 quarters for one of those prize machines in the exit. Well, it ate his money & he was not happy! He said he got screwed:) LOL! Poor baby - he was on the verge of tears:( Anyway, we went to the dollartree and he got some dinosaur thing. That made him happy:) I just remembered that he was supposed to remind me to get yogurt today & he forgot! Darn it! Lexie said she enjoyed not having him around for awhile - I imagine they get pretty sick of each other:(

Jason is helping our friends, Chrysta & Phil, get their "nused" hot tub, then he is going to put his new seat in his truck. Thank you, cash for clunkers! Someone traded in their clunker & it had a nice red seat (Jason's was torn on the driver's side from his dad's work tools) and I guess they get the money from the government, then they sell them to the junk yard! So the sales manager told Jason that he could swap seats:) Job perks:)

We are getting ready for our weekend of camping at the Off-road races in Bark River. I have the weekend off - yeah! We will be up there from Friday night until Sunday night. We will come home to shower on Saturday, though:) Lexie will be staying at Grandma Wanda's on Friday night so she can go to Rachel's bridal shower. She's kinda bummed as she wanted to play with Nevva again. Brett tried to weasel out of going, too, until I told him that Uncle Kevin was looking into him & Taylor working on the "Little Track" where they have the small remote-controlled trucks. The kids have to flip the trucks back over or put them back on the track as they flip & go off quite often:) Some friends of ours had their boys do it during the July run & they gave the boys each a remote-controlled truck:) These cost $200-$400! No way can I afford to buy one for him!

They are also looking forward to some new off-road shirts. Lexie's is too small for her, but I don't think there is a female racer this year:( She might have to settle for a Squirrelly Dan Beauchamp shirt (he is a friend of Jason & Kevin - they work on his truck quite often).

I have to remember to make potato salad & jello shots for this weekend - Casey, wanna come up for the night or 2: It's fun! LOL! If anyone is interested, check out RRN for discounted prices on wristbands as it can get expensive. It would be $60, I think, for the 2 of you for the weekend. The kids would be free as they are under 12. You can think about it:) You could meet Tommy's new girlfriend, Lisa.

Tina gave me the manager schedule for the next 4 weeks! I'm not entirely thrilled with all of my schedule, but some of it is pretty cool:)

It looks like we will be going to the fair on Tuesday, August 18th, as I am off that day:) I am off Saturday & Sunday, too, but it's so busy on the weekends that I prefer to go during the day, but I will have to see when someone wants to go with me. It's possible we will go 2 days - who knows?!?

Well, I should work on the schedule, but I forgot the request-off book at work:( That means I will have to do it tomorrow:( Oh, well!

We had to watch Twilight again - I love that movie - I like the book better, but I can't read the whole book in 2 hours, so the movie has to do:)

I think I'll post another one of Brett's poems:)

Later!XOXOXO

Found:Phone:) Hooray!

I'm going to attempt once again to post some pics, but I can't promise anything!

Today, I had to open & work until 2:30. I had to take an hour break since Tina was freakin' over overtime, so I went home to look for my phone. Don't worry, I finally found it - I should say the kids finally found it under the driver's seat in my car where Jason & I had looked at least 5 times already?!? I guess little people have a better view:)

Anyway, today was the first day for Brett at that Lego thing at the M-TEC. He had lots of fun:) That's all I heard about on the way home:)

Not much to say today - we had ice cream sundaes at Wanda's - Lexie's idea:) The kids both had 2 big ones:) Little piggies:)

They just got out of the shower - separately:) Figured I should add that in:) & Jason cleaned their ears. I clipped their nails this weekend, so they are all set:)

Ok- gonna try post pics now:) I will see what happens & depending on how frustrated I get, the kids may blog tonight:)

Yeah - so I tried - it only lets me post words. I don't know what's wrong with it, but it uploads pics, then I get to the done screen & hit the done button & I get kicked off the site completely! What's up with that?

Oh, well! I'll have to try figure something out:) Night!

This is Mine - A Poem by Brett

This is my kitten, Bells
She is so funny!
Once she chased
A cottontail bunny!

This is my kitten, Bells
Plays with anything!
sometimes she pounces
on pencils!

This is my kitten, Bells
I love her, I do!
When she makes a funny
Sound, I know she went poo!

by Brett Frossard, 3rd grade Lemmer

I figured I'd share one with you:)

This weekend on G.5 Rd;)

Well, if you haven't noticed, I was finally able to put all 4 tickers on exactly the way I wanted them:) Hooray! However, I am still unable to upload the pics of poetry book & fashion show. As soon as I am able, I will get them up.

Anyway, yesterday, I worked until 2, then we had to get ready for the big Tiki Party to celebrate Ashley, Hunter, Quintin, & someone named Debbie's birthday. Ashley is Jason's cousin, Tyler's, girlfriend. She turned 21! She is very awesome! We love her very much:) Hunter & Quintin are Jason's cousin, Tim's, sons. Hunter turned 10 the day before Lexie turned 8 & Quintin turned 8 on Saturday:) As you can tell, their mom, Jessie, and I were pregnant together:) Hunter is less than 2 months younger than Brett & Quintin is 1 week younger than Lexie. Of course, Lexie is the only girl - poor thing! She was happy because Kylee actually played with her on Friday at Grandma's. They played Bratz. Kylee is almost 14 so she's not into the same things as Lexie:( Kylee reads a lot!

So, after the tiki party last night, we went to Charlie & Theresa's house for a bonfire, which got rained out so we sat in the garage. When it started raining, Brett, Lexie, & Tegan decided to go in & play with the Wii. Brett loves to go over there - it's the only place he can play until we are able to purchase one ourselves:) Hopefully, we will be able to swing it this Christmas as we all would like one:)

We didn't stay too long as I had to open again this morning and tomorrow, too:( At least Tuesday & Wednesday aren't opening shifts:) Tuesday is 8-4 & Wednesday is 10:30-4. I was supposed to work until 5 both days, but I changed it since Brett will be going to the M-Tec building for a Lego Robots Camp from 1-4 Mon-Wed this week:) Yeah, we can't wait. This way, with me getting off at 4, I can pick him up. Jim or Wanda will be dropping him off all three days since I have to work. We have Off-road races again this coming weekend, so I have Sat & Sun off for that:) No dogs this time! Lexie will be staying with grandma & grandpa Friday night so Wanda can take her to Rachel's bridal shower Saturday afternoon. Lexie is a junior bridesmaid, I believe. Rachel is her godmother:) She is marrying Jason's cousin, Jeff, who is twin to Tim, Hunter & Quintin's dad:) These are Jason's mom's sister, Sallie's boys:) Tim, Jeff, Jake, & Tyler.

Today, the kids went to Uncle Kevin & Auntie Tracy's house to play with the kids while Kevin & Jason cut firewood. Yeah, already! I guess I won't have to worry about freezing this winter:) Yay! I love heat:) So I had to pick them up over there after work. I also picked up a couple more school supplies:) I'm trying to pick up a few here and there so I'm not so overwhelmed, you know?

Wanda bought Brett 2 new pairs of jeans the other day. She called me to let me know. She got him size 10. They are only a little bit long on him, so I guess I won't be buying him anymore size 8's:) Maybe he's growing a little bit - he's such a munchkin:)

Lexie loves her bras - she wears one everyday. She doesn't really care for the High School Musical one - she says it itches. Oh, well - at least she's comfy in the other 2.

Lexie is playing with a ball outside while my little couch potato is watching Boy Meets World which we have the first 3 seasons on dvd. Jason loves that show:)

Alright, I think it's time for bed:) I am beat! I also have to figure out what to make for dinner tomorrow. We had some Honey BBQ chicken strips & french fries (oven-baked, of course). It was pretty good.

Have a great day! Brett will let you know how Lego camp goes:)

Frustrated:( GRRRRR!

Sorry, everyone! I have been trying since Friday to upload those pics of Brett's poetry book & Lexie's fashion show, but every time I try, it kicks me off the internet! I have no idea what is wrong:( Anyway, I finally got Brett's age ticker up, but I am still working on Lexie's. Also, you may have noticed that Brett doesn't have a big ticker (days until next birhday). Well, I took it off to change it to one with his pic like Lexie's, but I'm still working on that:( I am very tired and I hate fighting with this computer just to do something so simple!

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know what is going on. I am going to keep at it for a little bit longer.

Hopefully, you'll see some pics tonight. And some new tickers:)
