Our walk

Lexie's had a rough couple of days:(

Where do I start?? Ok, well, since Lexie and I forgot to tell you yesterday, she was talking to Brett yesterday and her nose started bleeding. She then proceeded to blow it, which made it go all over the kitchen floor:( Awesome!! She got it on her white polo shirt, too. Well, luckily it came out of her shirt - threw it in the laundry right away:) Wow! She hasn't had one of those it such a long time!! Anyway, she said she didn't tell you because it was kinda gross!

I brought her home a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie from Subway yesterday, but she said her stomach didn't feel good - like she was going to throw up:( Well, she didn't:) Anyway, she was still complaining about her stomach this morning, so Jason kept her home from school as he didn't want to get a phone call to come and pick her up. Anyway, told me to just drop her off at his mom's on the way to work, forgetting, naturally, to call his mom to make sure they'd be home. Good thing his brother was there because they weren't home!! What a dork! She was fine, but we didn't want to take any chances:)

Grandma said she didn't eat too much today, but she's making up for it now - she's searching for a snack:) My baby girl is back to normal:) Her and I went for a walk down the trail with the dogs and took several pictures of the trees and stuff:) We saw some deer in a field and 3 raccoons crossed the trail ahead of us. I tried to take a picture, but I'm not sure if you can see them as they were quite a bit ahead of us:( It was still pretty cool:) I'll post a couple pics as they were pretty cool:) She decided that she wants to be a famous photographer when she grows up:)

Today

Today I woke up and I checked my fish it was on it's side almost dead .I went school and did work.I got home.My fish was gone.IT DIED! I was very sad I even cryed. LEXIE!

This is Brett.

Today, I had a lot of fun at school:) At outside recess, we bombed soccer and footballs back and forth, trying to catch them. The people on my team were: Aiden, Brett B., Alex, Mikey, Derec, Zach-attack (LOL), and several others. Karl Bonack, our local weather man, talked to us about weather. The two people next to me, Brad and Aiden, got called on for questions, but I didn't!?! Darn it!! That's pretty much it for today. Bye!

Sad tidings:*(

Lexie woke me up at 7:15 this morning, crying. Both Dorothy and Gilfin were floating on their sides:*( She was pretty upset. Anyway, I went & checked - Dorothy was still breathing, but Gilfin wasn't moving at all. I changed their water, hoping that some fresh oxygen would do the trick - it worked with Gilfin last week. Then I checked on them again 2 hours later and nothing:(  Lexie went to school this morning, hoping her fish would be ok when she got home and Brett has no idea that his second fish has passed away:( I'm thinking that they were over-fed. I'm pretty sure that all 4 of us feed them and yesterday was such a busy day that I think they ended up getting fed way too much:( I'll have to talk to the kids about it when I get home from work tonight to see if they want more fish or not. If they do, we're gonna have to keep track of their eating.

EMS Open House and Book Fair

Not too much going on today. We had Brett's open house tonight at the middle school. I talked to the mother who's going to be in charge of Lego Club and volunteered to help out:) Brett met up with his friend, Zach, and abandoned us while we wandered around to the music and art rooms. Brett went to the Book Fair where he spent all of his money except for $2. He's just like his mom:) One of the books that he bought - Lexie already has. I asked him why he bought it and he said because Lexie's is used. Apparently he wanted one in mint condition:) Funny kid!! When we got home, Brett had to get ready for bed as he gets up at 5:50 a.m. Lexie washed half of the dishes - Brett is supposed to do the other half tomorrow:)

Brett got invited to his friend, Mikhail's, birthday party on Saturday. After the party, he got to invite 4 friends to stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites overnight:) They have an awesome pool:) Brett is so excited as he's one of the 4 invited:) By the way, this is one of his very best friends!! I had plans for us this Saturday as I'm off, but now I have to change them:( I just don't have the heart to not let him go to this party:(

I guess that's all I can think of now - I just spend the last couple of hours looking at Halloween costumes for the kids:) I guess Brett would like one, too. I wasn't too sure if he would or not. Lexie wants one that has a pretty dress!! She's so easy!! Now, I've just got to narrow it down!! I have one or two faves that I will have to post for a poll or something:) I will think about it:) Have a great night, everyone:)

Brett helped me design the blog!!

I almost forgot to let you know - Brett helped me design this blog:) He picked the background and stuff:) He thinks the picture is hilarious!! We had lots of fun:)

My first EMS PTO meeting

Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend too much time with the kids tonight. I got home alittle after 4 and Lexie got home just before 5. I brought home Subway for dinner:) Then I left at 6 to go to the EMS PTO meeting which didn't get done until after 8:( So I got to see them for a few minutes before going to bed:( At the PTO meeting, we talked about the Fall Fundraiser for the EMS (Escanaba Middle School:) - it was decided to have a Schwann's fundraiser. We'll see - it's not the fundraiser I'd have chosen. I'd rather go with a local business. Last year, they sold meat (steaks, hotdogs, etx.) from a local market and they did very well:)

We also discussed having a "Freaky Friday" party for the kids around Halloween involving a dance, scavenger hunt, haunted house, etc. I think it sounds pretty cool. I really hope Brett thinks it's fun, too:) I can remember going to dances in 5th and 6th grade:) We talked about setting up the Cooking Club and the Lego Club. Brett would love to be in the Lego Club:) They said the reasoning behind all of the clubs in middle school is to get kids together that share a common interest. I think it's great:) Of course, all I could think about was next year and how many clubs and things Lexie's going to want to be involved in!!

So far, I'm impressed with the middle school. Brett absolutely loves it and we've had no problem with bullies:) I just want my kids to be safe and happy:)

A Weekend without Lexie

Well, it's a pretty quiet morning around here today. Lexie spent the night at camp with grandma and grandpa. She loves camp and every time they go up there for the weekend, Lexie goes, too:) Ooooh - Jason just told me not to buy any potatoes because his parents have 100 pounds in their basement - from their garden:) We had some with our dinner a few days ago and they were super good:) I love veggies from the garden:) We didn't have a garden this year, but we will definitely next year!

Jason is making breakfast (he had to go to his mom's for some eggs since we were out - they have chickens) and we are watching Clash of the Titans which I rented last night. Brett and I watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid last night - it was pretty good:) Jason was at his mom's working on our friend, Charlie's, truck, so it was just Brett and I. After the movie is done, Jason will be heading to camp and Brett and I will be hitting the chore list hard:) I want to clean my living room today:) It's still hard to do as we are remodeling and all the things from my office are in the living room right now. Jason's going to get going on my new office this week. He was going pretty good on it, but then he sprained his ankle and couldn't stand for long periods of time. He also built a wood splitter with his dad which took him away from home improvements for a while. He's got to hurry because he wants to get the room done so he can start on the roof and front porch:) I can't wait!! Then we are doing the hallways and the living room:) I will be taking before and after pics, of course:)

Well, I guess I will blog at ya later and let you know what Brett and I end up doing. I will try to have Lexie blog later, depending on what time she gets home:)

Fish Fry at the Pub

Well, another day comes to a close. Apparently both kids had great days at school, but Brett was complaining about some 7th grader on the bus:( Lexie said she had a great day even though we didn't give her a quarter for bake sale today. I told her that I didn't have to give her a quarter anymore as she gets an allowance and can buy her own treats at bake sale:) She wasn't too happy with this. We all went out to eat at the Ford River Pub tonight. Unfortunately, it wasn't the greatest. I'm pretty sure my fish wasn't cooked all the way:) After dinner (which included Jason's parents, brother, aunt, and grandma), we went to our friends' house. They live just behind the pub:) The kids had fun playing with Morgan, who is in 5th grade like Brett - just not in his classes. We didn't stay too late as Lexie has basketball camp tomorrow morning at 8. Jason keeps complaining about having to get up so early. Poor baby!!

Brett and Lexie weren't getting along too great today:( They were fighting over feeding the fish. Also, sometimes Lexie gets left out or feels left out when she's with Brett & Morgan. It's hard because of the third wheel thing, I think. Sometimes the girls leave Brett out. It just happens - pretty sure that no one intends to hurt the others:(

Oh, by the way, Lexie didn't get to bring anything to bake sale today:( Jason made 2 pans of brownies last night, I frosted them with chocolate frosting, and Lexie sprinkled them with red, white, and blue sprinkles - they looked so good!! Anyway, last night when I tried to cut them, they didn't come out very well:( They weren't quite baked long enough, I don't think. I couldn't get 24 of them nice enough to bring to school:( Lexie was ok with it, though, since that meant we got to keep both pans of brownies at home:) They sure taste awesome!! We love gooey brownies:) If you want some, you better come over pretty soon - one pan is almost gone!!

Well, have a good night, everyone:) I will probably talk to you tomorrow:)

Pumpkin Seeds

Hey! I came across this pumpkin seed recipe and figured I'd share it:)

Toss 2 cups fresh pumpkin seeds with 1/4 cup melted butter, 1/2 tsp garlic salt, and 1/4 tsp each cayenne pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Bake at 250 for 45 mins or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Makes 2 cups.

I can't wait to try this:)

Enjoy!!

Flood Warnings!!

Well, it was a pretty rainy day:( We had flood warnings in our area. I was pretty much working on the computer then I went to town to pick Brett up at school. Well, he got on the bus, so I sat there for 30-45 mins for nothing:( Then I went to pick Lexie up. We went to our chiropractor appointment then Shopko. The mall was pretty dead - another store moved out:( The coffee shop is now gone. This summer, the GNC store closed. It sure is looking pretty sad:( I sure wish we could get some new stores since that would mean more jobs. I really can't wait for the economy to turn around.

Not much else to say today. The kids are all tucked into bed and Jason and I are watching CSI. I work 10-2 tomorrow, then we are going out for a Fish Fry with Jason's parents and aunt and uncle:) I hope the weather is nicer!!

This is Lexie

I  went to school  and did schoolwork .My friend Erin and I played football for the whole recess. And I made my CITY. My mom picked me up. We went to Shopko. Then I went to dance. I had a lot of fun.I dance tap and jazz.I went home and listend to music .And played d,d,r to. I had fun.
just waiting at the middle school 4 brett:) I hope he remembers that it's thursday:) Picking him & Lexie up as we have chiro appts & Lexie has dance tonight:)

Lexie trying out Brett's gun:) Daddy told her she had to wait 2 more years before she could have one:)

Math is awesome!!

Not sure how well this will turn out since I wrote it, then copied & pasted it here:)

Well, now that I had to go online just to help Brett do his math homework!?! I’m pretty sure that I never had range, mode, median, and mean when I was in school!! At least not that I remember:( The mean is the average of a set of numbers, median is the number exactly in the middle, mode is the number that occurs most often, and the range is the difference between the highest and lowest numbers. I found this from Dr. Math:) I’m sure that you’re surprised after his blog the other day that he had to practice his spelling words;) They have a practice test which if they get all their words right, they don’t have to take it again. Well, Brett got 6 right out of 10 which is 60%. He told me that it didn’t matter since he could take it again when I asked why he hadn’t studied:( Naturally, I explained to him that it would be easier to study for the first test and not have to worry about taking the second one at all!!! But, what do I know?? Are there any parents out there who actually know anything according to their kids?
Lexie has been poring over her new library books all night:) This summer, she and her Grandma Wanda started going to the Escanaba Public Library. Brett, of course, chose not to go with them:( Anyway, Lexie had some books that were due back this coming Friday, so Grandma picked her up after school today and they returned Lexie’s books. She apparently felt the need for several more books - she checked out 9 more!! She said she would’ve gotten more, but grandma told her that was enough!! Hey, at least she likes to read, right?

A sure sign that the weather is getting colder?? Mice!! Brett, Lexie, and I were in the livingroom reading, doing homework, and playing on the computer when a mouse ran along the wall!! Lexie went to look for Buddy, our cat, but he and Bells, our other cat, were both outside:( Buddy has been catching them outside by the garage quite a bit lately.

I’m trying to upload some pics of our trip to Uncle Earl and Aunt Joyce’s camp this past Sunday, but it’s not going too well right now:( I don’t work tomorrow so if I can’t get them up tonight, I will try again tomorrow:)

I was thinking about the kid’s chore list this morning and I just wanted to make sure everyone didn’t think I was working my kids too hard for too little pay or whatever. Their chores are pretty simple. There are several of them, but they are things like brushing their hair and teeth, flossing, using fluoride, picking up after themselves, walking the dogs, emptying the washer and dryer, folding clothes, washing dishes, sweeping the floors, etc. I don’t let them do anything dangerous and some things I do with some assistance from them:) That’s how they can make so much money in a week:) I just wanted to make sure this chore list was understood appropriately:)
That’s all I’ve got until tomorrow:)

Brett

Doesn't he look happy? I called his name and snapped a pic:) He looks annoyed with me:)

A mother's concerns and pride:)

Well, Lexie isn't signed up for ice skating yet. It's about $150 plus skates and I don't get paid until the 1st of October. The money isn't due until the 21st. I'm pretty sure I'm still going to sign her up since I really think she'd enjoy it:) I still wish I could ice skate:) Also, our friends have a house right by the Ford River and they clear some of it off and skate in the winter. Plus, about a block from her school is an ice rink, so she should get plenty of extra practice:) I think this will be about all she can be involved in right now, though. I really don't want to be one of those parents who over-schedules their children, but at the same time I don't want to discourage them from pursuing their dreams. She could turn out to be one of the best ice skaters or dancers or basketball players the world has ever known. Also, she's not the most coordinated of children, so I'm hoping these things help her:) Sometime in October, we will be able to start observing their dance class and I really can't wait to see how she's doing:)

Sometimes I worry about her. When she went through kindergarten screening, they told me that she wasn't ready for developmental kindergarten - she needed to be in readiness kindergarten because she didn't know her letters or their sounds. I was pretty shocked to hear that because she had been spelling short words like dog, rug, cat, etc. all the time!! My kids really liked watching the Leap Frog videos and they always sang along with the songs. I told the teacher that Lexie knew ALL her letters AND their sounds. So she tested her by randomly writing a few letters and asking Lexie what they were. Lexie told her, without hesitation, what they were and made all the appropriate sounds. I knew she knew them!! The teacher then told me that Lexie made her a believer and she had no problem with Lexie going into developmental kindergarten.

She did struggle alittle with scissors - I really hadn't worked with her too much with them:( She also doesn't have the neatest writing, but it's legible. She's now in the 4th grade and she is doing great!! She even had straight-A's:) She is, however, the youngest kid in her class. Some of her classmates are a year older than her. I really don't put much store in the age thing. She seems to be making friends and accelling. Her reading levels are at least a grade higher and her comprehension is great.

She's doing well academically, but something that concerns me is that she's developing. We've had some "big girl" conversations which she thinks is gross, but I want her to know what's happening and what she's going to need to do like wearing a bra. I certainly didn't need a bra at her age! I was the same age that she is when I was in 4th grade. I know I keep hearing that girls are developing earlier, but it's a little scary to have one of those little girls. She doesn't want to wear a bra - one of the girls picks on her:( What a stupid thing to pick on someone about!! Anyway, I can't help but feel protective over my little girl. I don't want anything bad to ever happen to her! I've heard way too many horror stories:(

Wow! I guess I got pretty serious there, hey?? Sorry - I guess it's been on my mind lately since I just had to buy her bigger size bras! I'm so glad I only have one daughter!! Don't get me wrong, I love Lexie to pieces, but it's a lot more work raising a daughter than raising a son. Then again, it could be because I have a dramatic daughter and a son who is pretty content with everything in his life:)

Oh, I almost forgot - Brett and Lexie are finally getting an allowance. I made them a chore list - some that need to be done daily and others that need to be done weekly or occasionally. I discussed it with them and asked what they thought would be a reasonable amount for doing these chores. Lexie shrugged and Brett suggested 50 cents a day. That was lower than I was thinking, so it was agreed. I didn't tell them that I had other plans;) Anyway, after the first week, I added up how many chores they had done and multiplied that by 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6. Then I decided that I would give them 5 cents per chore. Since Jason gets paid twice a month and I get paid every other Friday, they get their allowance every other week. They got their first allowance this past week. Brett made 13.65 and Lexie made 13.70!! Pretty close, hey?? They are doing very well:) We still need to remind them on occasion but they are a lot more willing to do their chores:) Doing their homework is on their chore list, too:)

*I see Brett needs to practice his spelling;) His blog is funny:)

this is brett

Guese what I did ,go ahaed guese.OK I will tell you.I stuck a lego man to my celing. It's super cool!I want to do the same thing whith a base. That would be so cool!

SORREY IF WORDS ARE SPELLED WRONG.

Bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WITW?!?! (what in the world)

I have no idea why all those letters are there in those posts! I swear that I really typed words!! I tried to edit them off, but they are still there:( Anyway, I wanted to let you know that Brett signed yp for 2 clubs at school today:) Here's a big suprise: Lego club and Mythology club:) He's pretty excited about them:)

It's amazing how different two kids can be!! Lexie wants to be in nearly everything you can think of and Brett doesn't want to be in anything!! I'm hoping Middle School will help him become interested in something. I don't want to push him, you know?? I just try to encourage him to be himself and have fun!!

Well, I'll try to blog later - gotta head to town and sign Lexie up for ice skating:)

laughing at lexie:)

You know, I really gotta laugh at Lexie:) She really wants to be involved in nearly everything:) I can't wait til next year when she's old wnough to actually play basketball instead of just skills & drills camps:) She's been going to them since 1st grade. Sometimes I wish Brett was into more things, but he's just pretty content with his life:) Thank god for soccer:)
Hey! I just hooked my cell to my blog;) Sorry-just testing it out:) Have a great day!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!!!

What have the Frossards been up to??? OMG!! Between my work schedule, the kid's school schedule, PTO, and the kid's extra cirricular activities, my calendar on my cell phone is packed. I work 5 days a week, I attend PTO meetings once a month for both kids (as they are in different schools now), Lexie has dance on Thursday nights and basketball on Saturday mornings, and Brett starts Archery in about 2 weeks. If that's not enough, Lexie brought home her fall fundraiser things, we are registering her for ice skating which will be Sunday nights, and her class is in charge of the first bake sale of the year which is this Friday:) OMG!!! Brett's archery class includes a membership to the 4H and I'm also thinking about signing him up for swimming classes if he's interested:) He will be going to the Civic Center after school until archery then Jason or I will pick him up.

Lexie's very excited!! She's been wanting to be in skating and dance for as long as I can remember:) She's also recently decided that she wants to learn to skateboard and play the guitar:) So those are some possibilities for later on:) She's alos trying to figure out what she'd like to be for halloween this year. Brett's not too sure yet either;)

Brett absolutely LOVES school! He likes everything about it - from the bus ride to having a locker to seeing his friends to being able to eat pizza every day for lunch if he chooses:) He also has a "cute girl" whose locker is next to his:) She went to a different elementary school, so she's a new friend:)

Well, that's all I can think of now:) I think I'm gonna have to keep a notebook and keep track of everything;) Oh, I almost forgot - Brett got a little book from school that has the amendments and stuff in them and he was looking at the Bill of Rights. Well, he read me the first one and I explained that it meant freedom of religion, then he read the second one and before I could explain that one, he said, "That means people can wear whatever they want, right?" I laughed so hard, I was crying:) He proceeded to tell me that it meant people could wear short sleeves and show their arms:) I had to explain it to him, but it took me a few minutes since I had to go tell Jason right away:) Brett thought it was pretty funny, too, after I told him what it meant - and we were on our way to Jason's aunt & uncle's camp where he planned on shooting his 22 with daddy:) I took pics which I will post tomorrow night:) Have a good one, all:)

First week of school - check!!

Well, Tuesday was the first day of school. It went great!! Brett loves the middle school:) One of his best friends, Aiden, has a locker next to him and a cute girl named Paige is on the other side of him:) Yes, he actually came home the first day and told us about the "cute girl":) He is so funny:) Lexie made some new friends:) She cried when she found out her best friend, Ashley, moved away:( Poor Lex. She had her first day of dance class yesterday:) She's in tap & jazz. She loves it:) Unfortunately she's a little behind most of the other girls who have been in dance for the past few years, but Morgan, our friends daughter, just started, too, so at least they are the same:) The teacher is going to set up a couple extra practices for them to help them catch up:) I think that's all I've got for now:) I hope everyone else is having a great start to the new school year:) If I have more time tomorrow I will post their first day of school pics:)
